What it does 01
A lightweight Windows app for converting and resizing images in bulk. Drop in everyday photos, phone HEICs or RAW files straight off a camera, and it exports clean JPEG, PNG or WebP files into a converted folder next to your originals — nothing gets overwritten.
- Reads PNG, JPG, BMP, TIFF, WebP, HEIC/HEIF and camera RAW (Nikon NEF/NRW, Canon CR2/CR3/CRW, Sony ARW/SR2, Adobe DNG, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2, Fujifilm RAF, Pentax PEF and more).
- Exports JPEG, PNG or WebP with a quality slider from 1 to 100.
- Resize by a fraction (½ down to 1/20) or set a max width and height — aspect ratio is kept and images are only ever scaled down.
- True batch processing, with live progress as the queue clears.
- Full-resolution RAW demosaic with camera white balance for accurate color.
- Drag-and-drop, a responsive thumbnail grid and a clean dark theme.
Setup 02 · about 1 minute
- Download and unzip. Extract
image_converter.zipanywhere you like — there's no installer. - Run it. Double-click
image_converter.exe. It's a self-contained Windows app with everything bundled. - Add your images by dragging them onto the drop zone, or click Add Images to browse.
- Pick your output — format, quality, and an optional resize or max width & height.
- Click Convert Images. Your files land in a new
convertedfolder beside the originals.
FAQ 03
Do I need to install anything?
No. It's a standalone Windows executable with everything bundled — unzip it and double-click.
Will it overwrite my originals?
Never. Converted files go into a new "converted" folder next to the originals.
Which RAW formats are supported?
Nikon NEF/NRW, Canon CR2/CR3/CRW, Sony ARW/SR2, Adobe DNG, Olympus ORF, Panasonic RW2, Fujifilm RAF, Pentax PEF and more.
Can it make images bigger?
No — images are only ever scaled down, always keeping their aspect ratio.
Is it really free?
Yes — GPL-2.0, free forever, no upsells inside the app.
