## What it does

WordPress caps big uploads at **2560 × 2560 px** before scaling, and that limit is hard-coded — there's no setting for it. Most of my uploads never need more than 1920 px, so this plugin lets you choose your own.

- Set a custom **maximum width** and **maximum height** in pixels.
- Adds a simple **Media → Image Size Limits** settings page.
- **Super light** — just 106 lines of code.

## Setup

1. **Install it.** In WordPress go to **Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin**, choose the `.zip` you downloaded and click **Install Now**.
2. **Activate it** from the same screen (or later from **Plugins**).
3. **Set your limits.** Go to **Media → Image Size Limits**, enter a **Maximum Width** and **Maximum Height** in px (both start at 2560) and click **Save Changes**.
4. **Upload as usual.** Images you upload from now on are kept within your limits.

## Frequently asked questions

### What are the defaults?

Both fields start at WordPress's own 2560 px. Lower them to whatever your site actually needs — most of my uploads never need more than 1920 px.

### Why can't I just change this in WordPress?

The 2560 px limit is hard-coded, so there's no setting for it. This plugin adds one.

### Which WordPress versions does it support?

It's listed for any WordPress version — the whole plugin is 106 lines of code.

### Is it really free?

Yes — GPL-2.0, free forever, no upsells inside the plugin.
